Autumn crafts for kindergarten: 100 master classes with step-by-step photos

08.10.2021
Working with natural materials in kindergarten and primary school develops in children not only fine motor skills, but also interest in the world around them. Autumn leaves can be collected on the way home. Waste material will be turned into unusual panels. The main thing is not to miss the collection time, warning parents what exactly will be needed for classes. The leaf fall period, when the leaves become especially colorful, is only 3-4 weeks, and to expand the palette, the collection should have all the basic tones from green to bright red.

Making a paper pumpkin

It’s not at all difficult to make; even a kindergartener can handle the task. This is how they make a pumpkin.

  1. Take orange, yellow or green colored paper.
  2. We line it into strips. The width of each strip is 1-2 centimeters (depending on the expected size of the future pumpkin).
  3. The length of the stripes should be different. The first two stripes are the same length, the next two are 1 centimeter shorter, the next two are another 1 centimeter shorter, and so on.
  4. We begin to fasten two strips at a time. To do this, they need to be intertwined in the center and secured with glue or a stapler. Add to them the next two strips, fastened in the same way. Then two more, and so on, until the entire craft is assembled.
  5. On top of the finished pumpkin you can add a leaf cut out of green paper.

The result is a beautiful three-dimensional paper pumpkin.

Making an autumn tree

If you wish, you can even make a whole paper autumn grove.

  1. First you need to prepare the tree trunk. The best option for this is a toilet paper roll. Or - a tube rolled up from cardboard and glued around the edges.
  2. We cover the trunk with colored or white paper. If desired, add the missing strokes to it. For example, we paint it like a birch tree.
  3. Cut out a crown from cardboard.
  4. The first option is to paint it in different colors with paints. If it is an autumn tree, then it is yellow, red and brown, if it is a summer tree, then it is green.
  5. The second option is to take paper of different colors and tear it into small particles. Next, apply glue to the crown and glue pieces of paper onto it in random order. These will be the leaves.
  6. We make a cut on the sleeve (on the trunk) and insert the crown into it. If necessary, fix it with glue or adhesive tape.

That's it, the tree is ready. And if you make several trees, place them on some hill (a cardboard box is best for this purpose), place animals or birds made from cones, nuts or acorns between the trees, you will get a real, wonderful grove.

Another autumn tree

It is done a little differently, but the end result is a craft of amazing beauty.

  1. Cut out a trunk and branches from brown paper.
  2. Glue them onto a sheet of colored cardboard. The color can be any, the main thing is that the trunk does not get lost against its background.
  3. Take yellow, brown, orange, red and green paper and cut it into strips.
  4. Using glue, we make circles from the strips. These are the leaves of a paper tree.
  5. We make a tree crown from circles (leaves), gluing them on top of the trunk and branches.
  6. Cut out two green or yellow strips and glue them to the bottom of the tree. This is autumn grass. For a more autumnal mood, glue several circles to the grass. These are leaves that have fallen from a tree.

In addition, the video will tell you how to make autumn trees from paper. Here it is.

Making paper leaves

Well, it's quite simple.

  1. Draw a tree leaf on colored paper. Any: maple, oak, apple - whatever you like. Then we cut it out with scissors.
  2. Is it difficult or don’t you want to draw? It doesn’t matter: with the help of adults or on our own, we find the sheet on the Internet and print it on a color printer as many times as we like.

This video will tell you more about how to make maple leaves from paper.

Paper leaves are beautiful in themselves, and they can also be used to make a wonderful autumn garland. For it, the leaves need to be made colored on both sides, otherwise the garland will not turn out to be any beautiful.

This is how a garland is made. The leaves are attached in random order to a strong thread. They can be strung on a thread, glued, sewn - in general, whatever is more convenient. The more colorful leaves there are on the garland, the more beautiful the garland will be. It can decorate any room. Paper leaves, unlike real ones, are stored for a very long time.

Autumn print

This activity is especially fascinating for children; they make crafts with pleasure, so you should definitely do it. Moreover, there is no difficulty here. On the contrary, everything is simple, bright, fun.

  2. We prepare real, large and durable autumn leaves. It’s better to use different trees, it will be more interesting.
  3. Apply a thick layer of gouache to any color you like on the sheet. We experiment with paints - this develops creativity in the child.
  4. Press the painted sheet onto colored or white paper. An imprint of the sheet will appear on the paper. It can be cut out (when the paint dries), or you can make several prints on one sheet. The end result is a beautiful autumn picture.
  5. The missing details on it are completed with felt-tip pens or paints.

Making an autumn rainbow

To make such a craft, you need to stock up on:

  • cardboard of various colors;
  • scissors;
  • glue stick;
  • cotton wool;
  • stapler.

Let's start making a rainbow.

  1. We cut seven strips from colored cardboard. Moreover, in a strictly defined order: red stripe, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. If the child does not understand the essence, he should be explained that this is the order in which the colors on a real rainbow are arranged.
  2. When cutting out strips, you should also take this point into account. The red stripe should be the largest, the orange one should be slightly smaller, the yellow one should be even smaller, and so on. The smallest should be the last, purple stripe.
  3. We arrange the stripes in the appropriate order, starting with red (top), continuing with orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and ending with purple (lowest). The stripes should not be even, but in the form of an arc.
  4. We fasten the strips together with a stapler.
  5. We make clouds from cotton wool and glue them to the sides of the rainbow.

Application on the theme “Trees” for children of the preparatory group: instructions and useful tips

Children of the preparatory group can make an applique on the theme “Trees” not only from paper, but also from plasticine. But first things first.

First, let's see how to make an applique from colored paper:

  1. To do this, you need to take a sheet of brown paper. If it is not monochromatic, but with small third-party inclusions, it’s okay. A tree is drawn on the selected sheet. You can use ready-made templates if available. But still, if a child draws a tree on his own, it is much more useful.
  2. Next, carefully cut out the drawn tree with scissors.
  3. The approximate height of the tree will be 20 cm from an A4 sheet. Then we prepare the leaves: you need to cut squares of different colors about 3cm x 3 cm. After the leaves, you make a preparation for the grass - a green rectangle 2cm x 28 cm. The squares need to be folded like an accordion, starting from the corner. The grass blank should also be folded like an accordion, but in width.
  4. When the blanks for the tree itself are ready, you need to make a small mound on which the tree grows. To do this, fold a green rectangle 9cm x 4cm in half. Use scissors to cut along an arc. Unfold - you get a regular semicircle. Now you need to complete the formation of foliage. Bend the accordion, which is made from colored squares, in half and glue it in the middle. Glue a cut out mound to the center of the bottom edge of a sheet of blue cardboard. In the center of the mound, retreat 1.5 cm from the bottom of the cardboard sheet. Glue the wood blank. Stretch the accordion of grass along the entire length of the bottom edge of the cardboard. The grass should cover the “roots” of the tree.
  5. Now the formation of the tree crown begins. You need to glue the leaves, trying to ensure that the colors do not go in a row. More leaves mean a more luxuriant crown. You can stick a couple of leaves that are not attached to anything, creating the effect of leaves torn off by the wind and floating in the air. All that remains is to make the sky. In fact, the sky itself already exists - the cardboard is blue, there is no need to highlight the sky on it. But the clouds will need to be made. For this, take blue paper. You can cut out the clouds, or you can simply tear the paper into small pieces. All that remains is to glue them to the top of the cardboard without any order.

The tree against the background of the autumn sky is ready, mind you, without any effort. But, if you want to complicate the drawing, it all depends on who is doing the appliqué. There would be a desire. The pictures below show several options, which are also quite simple to do.

- These are works made most often from natural materials. Acorns and chestnuts, cones and nuts, seeds and berries, and even colorful leaves - all these are universal craft materials that autumn is so generous with. The section presents master classes and photographs from exhibitions from kindergartens and schools. If you were asked to make a craft with your child in kindergarten on the themes: “Gifts of Autumn”, “Pantry of Autumn”, “What Autumn Brought to Us”, “Golden Autumn”, etc. — be sure to look at the materials from this section.

Master class: application “Autumn Forest” for children of middle preschool age

I bring to your attention a simple application for children of middle preschool age on the themeAutumn ”: 1) To work you will need: colored paper in red, orange, yellow, brown and blue, scissors, glue, black felt-tip pen. 2) On yellow and red paper.

Collective work with children of the middle group “Autumn has come to us”

Topic: “ AUTUMN ” Materials: Whatman paper, colored pencils, wax crayons, leaves, clover flowers, berries, maple and birch seeds, PVA glue, glue brush, oilcloth, hand rags. Goal: To develop the ability to arrange leaves of different colors and sizes on the background, to move them in search.

How to prepare leaves

In order for the application to be neat and stored for a long time, the leaves must be prepared in advance. Drying in a loose position will not help; as moisture evaporates, the material will curl. Gluing such leaves is much more difficult, as is cutting out even shapes for a modular applique of leaves.

There are two options for drying natural material. You can put the leaves under a press, for example in a large book. But we must take into account that the pages are deformed, even if they are additionally padded with a napkin - the reason is evaporating natural moisture. Such drying is a long process, taking at least a month. Solid large veins should be cut lengthwise in advance so that they dry and do not begin to rot.

Express drying with an iron is much faster. It is enough to place the leaves on a newspaper and iron at medium temperature. In this case, the natural color may be distorted. To prevent this from happening, it is worth drying in several stages and not setting the iron to maximum.

To prevent the material from deteriorating before class, you can store it in a box with salt or rice sprinkled on the bottom. The absorbent will absorb residual moisture and prevent rotting.

Autumn craft ideas for kindergarten

Let's start with the simplest compositions. It is difficult for kids to make intricate crafts, so appliques made from dry leaves, chestnuts and acorns would be excellent options. Such applications will delight the little ones.

A wreath made of leaves is also a fairly simple children’s garden craft, but no less beautiful for that.

Such a wreath will be an excellent craft if you do not have time to stock up on natural materials. Just cut out the leaves from colored paper; it will be especially chic if you decorate the leaves with paints or gouache.

Very simple crafts for kids - trees with colorful foliage. There are so many options for making them!

All children love hedgehogs and many people associate this animal with autumn. Cute and prickly hedgehogs with an apple or mushroom on their back will delight children. They are made simply: as a rule, the body is made of plasticine, and needles - seeds (or other natural materials) are pressed into it.

Note! DIY craft from CDs

Children in the older group of kindergarten are no longer so interested in making simple compositions, so we found several more complex options, but making them will not be difficult. For example, a doll with a dress from dry leaves is not difficult to make. You need to take the top half of the doll and place it in the neck of half a plastic bottle. Due to the shape of the bottle, different styles of dresses will be obtained. The leaves are glued in layers and moment crystal glue is used. Of course, girls will like this craft more than boys.

The following crafts are universal, both boys and girls will be delighted with them. Of course, these are already beloved houses made from natural materials. In such a house you can settle fairy fairies or animals, or you can leave them on their own.

Types of applications made from natural materials

  • Overlay applique. A simple look that does not require additional work with leaves - they are glued to a sheet of paper or cardboard, creating the intended plot. These can be animals, trees, mushrooms. You can add some details.
  • Mosaic or modular application. This technique involves gluing leaves that are identical or similar in shape. This way you can make a bird's tail or fish scales.
  • Symmetrical applique. In this case, it is necessary to select similar leaves to create mirror images. This way you can make an image in water, a butterfly, a dragonfly.
  • Ribbon applique. A type of symmetrical applique, but in this case you can make several similar images.
  • Silhouette applique. The leaves are trimmed to create the desired pattern or shape.

Children become interested in applications and crafts even at the stage of collecting material. Kids like to collect leaves on the paths while walking, look for cones and chestnuts. Therefore, it will not be difficult to persuade your child to use all this to create a beautiful applique.

Crafts on the theme of autumn for school

Crafts on the theme of autumn for school are in many ways similar to those made in kindergarten. The difference lies largely in whether the child makes them himself or with the help of his parents. Simple crafts are suitable for DIY. The eyes will come to the rescue - they will make any craft more lively and expressive.

With due diligence, these mushrooms are also not difficult for a child to make on their own.

It’s more difficult to do these options yourself, in many ways you will need the help of parents, but joint creativity brings us together.

Such crafts are suitable for competitions and require imagination from the performer. How do you like these ideas?

Photos of crafts on the theme of autumn for the home

It is not at all necessary to make crafts just because they were assigned in kindergarten and school. Many of them can be made simply to decorate your home. These completely unconventional ideas will amaze you with their beauty and give you unique pleasure and lift your autumn mood.

Dry leaf applications don't have to be simple. Sometimes they become real paintings - masterpieces. Here are just a few ideas.

Wreaths have already become a traditional home decoration, and in the autumn they can also be a small work of art.

For those who like to sew or knit, the ideas might be something like this.

If you don’t want to do anything complicated, but need to create an atmosphere, garlands of leaves or fabric of appropriate colors are suitable.

This pumpkin craft is not at all difficult to make - you will need glue and a flexible pipe for extraction. Bend the pipe to create a pumpkin shape and then spray paint it. Add a stalk - a wine cork or a suitable twig, and decorate the craft with leaves.

This miniature will delight the eye for many years. Of course, it is not so easy to make, but the result is amazing.

This kind of fun pampering with photographs will make long autumn evenings truly creative.

Candles will bring comfort on cold evenings:

A few more craft ideas for adults and children

Which crafts did you like the most?

My name is Nadezhda, I am a mother of many children. I love children and am actively involved in their development. At one time, I was looking for a site where all the information on children’s development, ideas for crafts, and poems for memorization would be collected. And also the inspiration that all mothers need, because being a mother is not always easy. Now I know such a site - I created it myself))) “Mom can do anything!” This is not just a website, this is my motto in life.

Ideas for autumn applications for kids: let’s use imagination

The smaller the child, the more demanding he is. It is always more difficult with the youngest part of humanity than with the rest. Here imagination and all sorts of little tricks come to the aid of parents. For example, you can make a fun autumn applique in just a few minutes. At the same time, the child will laugh with joy.

A simple option, which is already difficult to find simpler. Take just one yellow leaf from those that were blown onto the balcony by the wind (or, as a last resort, take yellow paper for applique).

The leaflet should look like in the picture:

Turn it over with the wide part facing down. Glue a sheet of cardboard. Draw legs and arms to it, one of which will have an umbrella. Glue a couple of larger buttons onto the leaf itself. And on them - a pair of smaller diameters. Draw drops of rain and a smile on the resulting cunning face. All. Cheerful yellow autumn man - the leaf is ready.

Time taken - 15 minutes. The child laughs with happiness. The parents breathe a sigh of relief.

Applications “Autumn” from plasticine

Painting using reverse plasticineography technique:

Autumn applique made of paper, plasticine and natural materials “Mouse in a hole”

The autumn applique, which is presented in this lesson by Elena Nikolaeva, is made of paper and natural materials, such as dried yellowed leaves and cereals. You can use absolutely any cereal. The picture shows a mouse in a hole; the rodent has made provisions for the winter and hid in the thickness of dried autumn foliage. This is a craft for the youngest children, and also an excellent option for kindergarten, if you urgently need to complete a thematic application in the evening according to the teacher’s instructions.

To perform such an application you will need to prepare:

  • a sheet of paper or cardboard;
  • plasticine in dark shades: brown, gray, black;
  • dried leaves;
  • liquid PVA glue;
  • any cereal, for example, peas.

How to make a craft with a mouse, step by step

  1. Prepare the necessary materials for work. You will need to apply plasticine to the paper base, which is perfectly attached to it. It is enough to thoroughly knead the plasticine in your hands and spread it in a thin layer. And also the mouse itself will be made of gray mass. You will need to attach dry leaves around the mouse hole. This can be done using liquid glue, and the cereal can also be glued with the same composition, but you will need to wait a little until it dries.
  2. First, prepare the base. The leaf used here is a beautiful light green color. Mash pieces of brown and black plasticine in your hands.
  3. Start spreading a piece of plasticine in the center, stretching the pigment to the sides. This will define the central part of the mouse hole.

  4. Add a second shade of plasticine - a lighter one.
  5. Make a mouse figurine from a gray soft mass. First, knead it in your hands, then make a cake and press it with your finger, pull it out in the appropriate places to indicate the head, back, paw and thin long tail.
  6. Glue the resulting gray mouse into the center of the hole and decorate the rodent with ears, a nose and small eyes.
  7. Now start decorating the mink itself. First, place the supplies that the mouse hid for the winter. Pour liquid glue at the base of the mink and pour cereal on top, press down.
  8. Use a few small leaves. If the leaves are large, you can crumble them in your hands. Also pour glue and attach at the base.
  9. Throw a kaleidoscope of dry leaves, turned into dust, or whole leaves if they are small in size, in a circle.

Now it seems that the mouse has hidden in a hole and is sitting out the cold, and autumn has already arrived on the threshold. A beautiful bright applique made of paper, plasticine and natural materials is ready.

    Amazing autumn work! It’s even difficult to single out just one; each one represents a whole picture. How wonderful it is that children still create with their hands from natural materials; in the age of computerization, this is priceless.
