Application is not only interesting entertainment, but also a useful activity for preschool children. This craft is great for developing fine motor skills, a child’s creativity and coordination. In addition, the application will teach the child to express his feelings, emotions and visual perception of the world around him.
That is why parents should pay due attention to the process of creating a colorful picture. In order for your child to enjoy creating applications, it is recommended:
- Choose comfortable scissors. They should be light and moderately sharp. A tool with blunt ends will complicate the cutting process, which is why the child may lose the desire to make crafts.
- Create different applications. Plot paintings are considered especially useful. This is a more complex type of artistic activity, however, it is the one that fully reveals the child’s creative potential. For example, you can take as a basis a plot from a fairy tale in which frogs depict some action. Your child should also try decorative appliqués. They represent a composition of various patterns and elements.
- Create a craft with your child. In order for the baby to truly enjoy the process, parents must be nearby. Under the guidance of adults, children feel more confident, thanks to which they cope with the task faster.

What materials can the applique be made from?
A beautiful craft can be made from absolutely any material. It all depends on the child’s imagination and skill. But most often applications are made from:
- paper;
- cardboard;
- magazines and newspapers;
- multi-colored plasticine;
- foam balls;

- beads;
- beautiful packaging material;
- wallpaper remnants;
- multi-colored threads of varying thickness and quality;
- fabrics;
- skin;
- sequin;

- poplar fluff;
- colored cotton wool;

- multi-colored sand;

Step-by-step instruction
Thanks to the presented master class, each child will master the process of making a simple three-dimensional applique. To create a frog you will need the following materials:
- markers;
- glue stick;
- compass;
- white, yellow, red and green paper;
- blue cardboard;
- ruler;
- a simple pencil;
- scissors.
Cutting
Start with a water lily leaf. Take green paper and draw a circle with a diameter of 14 cm on it using a compass. Carefully cut out the workpiece. Mark a small triangle on the part. Cut out the drawn segment.
Start making a frog. Using a ruler, draw a square with sides 11 cm. Carefully cut out the workpiece and fold it diagonally. You should get a triangle.
Mark the center at the base. Bend the corners from it symmetrically on both sides.
Fold the corners inward and turn the workpiece over.
Cut out their white paper eyes. Draw pupils on the details.
Cut out a frog's tongue from red paper. Glue the prepared parts to the animal's head.
Draw a nose and small spots on the frog.

Start designing the application. Take blue cardboard and draw small waves on it with a blue felt-tip pen.
Glue the water lily and frog onto the sheet. If desired, the craft can be supplemented with flowers.
