Effective techniques
Speech therapists and child psychologists have developed several methods for speech training. Visual teaching methods are based on the perception of an object. These include going on excursions and exhibitions, observing animals and nature. In addition, it is useful to describe mediocre objects - cartoon characters, paintings, photographs.
Methods for attracting attention to an object are divided into verbal and practical. Verbal ones include reading and retelling, memorizing the text and its analysis, discussion and conversation. Practical methods - dramatization, theatrical performances, plasticine modeling, drawing and modeling. Practical classes develop vocabulary, teach you to express your ideas and correctly convey them to your interlocutor. Depending on the nature of speech, methods can be reproductive (memorization of material) and productive (retelling, during which the child develops creative abilities).
To develop speech in preschoolers, preschool teachers use several techniques:
- Sample speech. The teacher loudly and slowly pronounces a specific phrase, which the students must unmistakably repeat after him.
- Pronunciation. The teacher says individual sounds or a combination of them, and the child’s task is to repeat after him correctly.
- Explanation. The teacher explains in detail to the kids the points that are incomprehensible to them, and also analyzes their mistakes.
- Directions. In this case, teachers give children specific instructions for one or another action in the process of learning the material.
- Question. The teacher asks the child specific questions that he must answer. This is done to secure the material.
- Illustrative examples. The teacher uses special aids or shows how to pronounce certain sounds using articulation.
Thus, techniques for improving a child’s pronunciation are designed to create an emotional background, they motivate them to study in the future and allow them to expand the boundaries of their vocabulary.
